MN Championships: MN State and Youth MIT

2024 Minnesota Youth Basketball State Championships

The 2024 Pacesetter Minnesota State Basketball Championships will be held in St. Cloud, MN, where the champions from each of Minnesota’s 8 regions and champions and runners-up from 4 super sections will battle for the over-all Minnesota state championship. All teams will play 3 full games in an 8-team state tournament format.

The Minnesota state champions will advance to the newly renovated Target Center in Minneapolis, where they play in the Great Five-State Championships against the top teams from North Dakota, Iowa, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The Great Five-State championships will be played at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The 5-state playoffs are held in cooperation with the Minnesota Lynx and Minnesota Timberwolves.  All teams guaranteed 3-4 games.  

  • Need to add players? Please email the Pacesetter office with any additions to your roster, pacesettersportsmbbn@gmail.com. Every player must have a waiver on file. A copy of your roster also needs to be turned in at each tournament.
  • All players on a team must either be enrolled in the same school system or live or attend school in the same city or the same tribal community. (All tribal communities with a high school in their tribal community must abide by the school guidelines. Only tribes without a high school in the tribal community may play as one tribal community. Tribal communities may not combine to play as one team.) Smaller schools may combine, however, to form one team if the combined high school enrollment for grades 9-12 is 400 or fewer. Schools that combine must be from neighboring schools.

2024 State Tournament Info

Pacesetter Great Five-State Championships / Target Center • Minneapolis, MN

The Pacesetter “Great State” tournament will be held at the Target Center in Minneapolis and will feature top teams from Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa in an 8-team format. This exciting five-state playoff system is sponsored by the 3-time WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Great State tournaments will be held in conjunction with Minnesota Lynx games.

All teams will play 3 games in one/two days in an eight-team bracket against top teams from IA, MN, ND, SD, WI.

2024 Youth Minnesota Invitational Tournament

The 2024 Pacesetter Minnesota Invitational Tournament will be held in St. Cloud, MN, where teams from each of Minnesota’s traditional 8 regions and 4 super sections will battle for the prestigious MIT championship. All teams participating in a Region Playoff or Super Section are invited to play. All teams will play 3-4 full games in a 4-16 team tournament format. Teams will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis.

Invitations will be issued at each qualifying tournament. Further information, guidelines, etc. for the tournament will be provided in the invitation packets.
